Password reset links can only be used once and expire after a short time.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
2FA adds a second layer of security. Even if someone gets your password, they cannot sign in without the one-time code from your phone.
Turning 2FA On
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Two-Factor Authentication and click Enable 2FA. You will need an authenticator app on your phone (such as Google Authenticator or Authy).
Signing In with 2FA Enabled
After entering your email and password, you will be asked for a 6-digit code. Open your authenticator app and enter the current code shown for ChartChat.
Turning 2FA Off
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Two-Factor Authentication, click Disable 2FA, and enter your current 6-digit code to confirm.
Signing Out
Click Log Out at the bottom of the left sidebar to sign out immediately. Your session is ended and you are taken back to the sign-in page.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Can't sign in | Check that Caps Lock is off and try resetting your password |
| Verification email not received | Check your spam folder or request a new link |
| 2FA code not working | Make sure the time on your phone is correct — codes refresh every 30 seconds |
| Lost access to authenticator app | Contact ChartChat support to reset 2FA on your account |
| Google or Microsoft sign-in fails | Make sure pop-up windows are not blocked in your browser |
| Keeps logging me out | This is expected — sessions end after inactivity. Adjust the timeout in Settings. |
